Furukawa to increase production of high purity arsenic and GaP polycrystal in fiscal 1999 Furukawa announced in March that it will increase production of high purity arsenic and GaP polycrystal in fiscal 1999. The company plans to expand monthly production of the materials at its Iwaki plant form 5.0 to 5.6 tons and from 500 to 600 kg, respectively. Furukawa predicts orders for GaP polycrystal will pick up from June. The company says it has a 70% share of the global high purity arsenic market, and it is also the leader in the GaP polycrystal market with a 25% share.
