Gallium MBE
MBE grade gallium has been developed specially for meeting the extremely high purity requirements of molecular beam epitaxy. This starts with the 7N gallium being further purified via a special processing route which helps eliminate contaminants that cause defects during epitaxial deposition.
Special attention is paid during the packaging process to protect the MBE grade gallium from any contact with oxygen and moisture. The metal is cast and then packed under vacuum in either a polyethylene film (and then placed in an aluminium foil composite bag) or in a specially designed and patented polyethylene bottle.
